A fresh, breezy style, featuring a beam of cassis and cherry fruit, gilded with lilac and violet accents. A light singed alder thread on the finish gives this some spine.
Tangy and fruity with spice and berry character. Full body, chewy tannins and a tight finish. This will fill out nicely in barrel. From biodynamic grapes.
Deep cherry red with purple rim. Elegant and fragrant on the nose. Firm, compact and super-fine tannin texture. Subtle, supple – the complete opposite of showy and very nice with it
The 2016 Ferriere is an accomplished Margaux for the vintage. It has a feminine, refined bouquet with blackberry, wild strawberry and light rose petal aromas, just a hint of vanilla from the new oak that is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, quite juicy tannin. This is very harmonious with fine tannin, impressive depth and a sense of mineralité that is in tune with this vintage. I thought that the 2015 Ferriere was excellent, but this is another step up. Bravo, Clare Villars Lurton!
Ferrière 2016 est un Margaux accompli pour le millésime. Son bouquet est féminin et raffiné avec des arômes de mûres, de fraises des bois et de pétales de rose, juste un soupçon de vanille lié à l'élevage qui s'intègre parfaitement. La bouche est moyennement corsée avec des tanins mûrs et assez juteux. Il est très harmonieux avec des tanins fins, une profondeur impressionnante et une minéralité qui s'accorde avec ce millésime. J'ai trouvé que La Ferrière 2015 était excellent, mais ce 2016 est un autre pas en avant. Bravo, Clare Villars Lurton !
