Domaine du Clos des Tourelles, un lieu hors du temps, entouré de son "clos" de vieux grenaches, célèbre pour son grand vin rouge en AOC Gigondas.
Ce lieu habité depuis toujours fut la première construction réalisée à l'extérieur des remparts du village de Gigondas. Sur les substructions de l'époque médiévale a été construite au XVII ème siècle la superbe bastide qui forme aujourd'hui avec ses tourelles cet ensemble si harmonieux.
Composé de 10 hectares de grenache (80%), syrah, cinsault et mourvèdre, le vignoble des Tourelles est situé sur des sols calcaires à la matrice marno-sableuse qui sont remarquables dans le "Clos", lieu-dit planté de vieux grenaches directement accolé au domaine et au village de Gigondas.
Slighter richer is the 2015 Gigondas Clos des Tourelles. It shows similar floral notes but fills the mouth with ripe stone fruit and cherries, fine tannins and an incredibly silky finish. All of the Perrin Gigondas show the elegant side of the appellation.
This is still a bit compact, with a juicy core of dark currant and fig paste flavors waiting to unwind, held in check for now by brambly grip and licorice root and singed tobacco leaf notes. Reveals a light tarry echo. Solidly built.
Fine, brushed tannic feel and bold black and red fruit aromas. Chewy grip, medium body and good length. Lacks the particular aromatic lift of the L'Argnée Gigondas.
The finest vintage to date, the 2015 Gigondas Le Clos des Tourelles comes from a tiny vineyard located just inside the village of Gigondas. Incorporating a touch of Syrah, this Grenache dominated beauty reveals a deep ruby/purple color as well as off the chart notes of black raspberries, black cherries, pepper, garrigue, and tons of that classic Gigondas spice. I wrote “Wow” more than once in my notes and this full-bodied 2015 has ultra-fine tannin, perfect balance, and a stacked mid-palate. Give bottles 2-3 years and drink over the following 15+ years.
Wild stuff, but in an exciting way. This has pushed fruit ripeness to the limit and the dense, textured palate is a mixture of raisins, dark cherry and mountainside scrub.
L'année 2015 est caractérisée par un hiver doux et humide, suivi d'un printemps plutôt chaud et sec. Les conditions sanitaires sont excellentes. Quelques averses en juin, la vigne a bien supporté les fortes chaleurs et la sécheresse de l'été grâce aux réserves hydriques. Après une floraison satisfaisante, les pluies du mois d'août ont favorisé une maturation rapide et régulière. Les teneurs en composés phénoliques et anthocyanes sont élevées. Les vendanges se déroulent dans des conditions optimales.
