Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 La Cabanne (composed of 94% merlot and 6% cabernet franc) opens with some cedar/oaky overtones, giving way to a fragrant core of warm black cherries, fresh black plums and blueberry preserves with sparks of spearmint, powdered cinnamon, dried roses and redcurrant jelly. Full-bodied with taut, muscular black and blue fruits, it has a firm line of rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy.

Pure and delicious with crushed berries, flowers and hints of fresh almonds. Medium to full body and very integrated tannins that melt into the wine. Fresh finish. Refined for the vintage.

Couleur rouge sombre et intense. Nez discret et fruité. Fruité à l'attaque, le vin évolue savoureux, avec un corps à la tannicité un brin appuyée en finale. Longueur moyenne.

Black-cherry colour. Scented with pure black fruit and vanilla-blueberry sweetness. Some freshness here, and the tannins are dry but layered rather than thick and blocky. Good harmony in a vintage of extremes.

A blend of 94% merlot and 6% cabernet franc, the 2018 Château La Cabanne has an exotic bouquet of plums, black cherries, candied violets, and orange peel. Medium to full-bodied, with good acidity and terrific balance, it shows the elegant side to the vintage and will keep for 10-15 years.
Histoire du Château
Avec le château La Cabanne, les Vignobles Estager, propriétaires de plusieurs domaines bordelais, nous emmènent dans l'appellation Pomerol, au sein d'un terroir argilo-graveleux sur un sous-sol riche en mâchefers, des concrétions mélangeant sable et fer.
Vous trouverez dans ce vin les 2 cépages qui dominent l'appellation : le merlot et le cabernet franc, le premier primant très nettement. Il en résulte un vin avec une robe évoquant la cerise comme souvent avec le merlot, un nez puissant et délicat sur les fruits confits et les notes sauvages, et une bouche charnue et soutenue. Ce château La Cabanne est taillé pour de la très longue garde.
